The 2024 Brain Health and Community Resource Fair, co-presented by Act Now Foundation and the Hudson County Department of Health and Human Services, was a resounding success. Held on June 15, 2024, at Lincoln Park in Jersey City, the fair promoted brain health and healthy aging while providing essential resources for seniors, families, students, caregivers, and community members.

The event began with a Welcome Announcement from Darice Toon, Director of the Hudson County Department of Health and Human Services, along with Act Now Foundation Co-Founders Kristine Allen and Cary Lopez. Highlights included a Tai Chi session led by Pedro Delgado and seniors from West New York, encouraging relaxation and physical well-being. Inside the Hank Gallo Community Center, the Division of Children and Youth Services hosted educational activities and arts and crafts sessions for attendees of all ages.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in brain games designed to stimulate memory, focus, and problem-solving, including optical illusions, memory challenges, and spot-the-difference puzzles. Free health screenings emphasized the importance of early detection and preventive care. With over 90 vendors present, more than 900 attendees accessed valuable information and support for brain health and overall wellness.
The fair’s lively atmosphere was enhanced by a DJ who kept energy levels high, and nutritional resources highlighting the role of a balanced diet in supporting brain health. The event fostered learning, connection, and enjoyment for all who attended.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated, whether as an attendee or a vendor. Special thanks to our co-presenter, the Hudson County Department of Health and Human Services, and to our generous sponsors: Horizon NJ Health, Eisai Pharmaceutical, Applause Home Care, Haven Savings Bank, Hackensack Meridian Palisades Medical Center, and Healthier JC. Lastly, heartfelt thanks to our dedicated volunteers whose hard work made this event possible. We look forward to continuing our mission of promoting brain health and supporting our community for years to come.
