Act Now Foundation's
Mission, Goals, and Impact
Our Mission & Vision
Our vision is to create a dementia-friendly New Jersey.
Act Now Foundation is committed to reducing the impact of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias while fostering communities that are supportive, knowledgeable, and empathetic toward individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.
Through education, caregiver support services, and community advocacy, we empower families to navigate the challenges of caring for someone with dementia, ensuring that individuals living with Alzheimer’s or related dementias receive the care, dignity, and respect they deserve.

Goals & Objectives
-
Raise Awareness: Educate the public and communities about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias to reduce stigma.
-
Promote Early Diagnosis: Encourage early detection of dementia for informed decision-making and timely access to care.
-
Provide Supportive Resources: Offer educational materials, counseling, and support groups to help caregivers and individuals living with dementia.
-
Advocate for Change: Influence policies that improve the quality of life for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.
Why Our Work Matters
Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, remaining both unpreventable and incurable. Projections show a 600% increase in cases by 2050, with low-income, Hispanic, and urban communities in New Jersey most affected.

In New Jersey, over 272,000 caregivers support more than 185,300 seniors with Alzheimer’s, providing 494 million hours of unpaid care valued at $10.8 billion. Half of these seniors have never received a formal diagnosis, and many lack access to treatment or support services.

This urgent need drives Act Now Foundation’s mission to deliver education, advocacy, and comprehensive support to individuals living with Alzheimer’s and related dementias, and to the caregivers who serve them.
