Gain hands-on experience supporting families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias in Northern New Jersey. Our internship program provides practical, real-world experience in public health, psychology, health administration, marketing, and community engagement while helping make a tangible impact on the lives of older adults and caregivers.
Interns assist with community programs, educational content, and outreach events, gaining skills while supporting our mission to build dementia-friendly communities across Northern New Jersey.

1. What kind of work will I do during my internship?
You’ll gain hands-on experience tailored to your field of study. This may include planning and supporting outreach events, assisting with caregiver education programs, creating marketing content, evaluating programs, or working on health initiatives that benefit the community.
2. Who can apply?
Undergraduate and graduate students, as well as select high school students interested in public health, sociology, psychology, health administration, marketing, and community engagement.
3. When can I apply and what are the deadlines?
Internships are offered in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Deadlines: August 1 for Fall, December 1 for Spring, and June 1 for Summer.
4. How do I apply?
Download the application form, complete it, and submit it along with your résumé through our website. After reviewing your materials, we’ll schedule an interview. Final decisions are made within 1–2 weeks after your interview.
5. Are internships remote?
No. All internships take place at our office in Union City, NJ.
6. Where is Act Now Foundation located?
400 38th Street, Suite 406, Union City, NJ 07087.
7. How many hours per week are required?
At least 10 hours across 2 days per week. We’ll work with you to accommodate your schedule and remain flexible during exams.
8. Are internships paid?
Internships are unpaid due to our non-profit status. However, many universities offer programs that fund unpaid internships. Check with your school for details.
9. Can I earn college credit?
Yes. Many interns are able to earn college credit; confirm with your department before applying.
10. Are there one-time volunteer opportunities instead of internships?
Yes. We sometimes offer one-day volunteer opportunities at our annual Brain Health & Community Resource Fair in June and our Music & Memories Gala.
